Tim Pamell
MSPT, ATC is a licensed physical therapist and certified athletic
trainer. His managing partner position has allowed him to open
and create Crossroads Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Inc.
on August 27, 2001. After graduating high school from Hollidaysburg
High School in 1982, Tim attended Juniata College with BS degree
in biology graduating in 1986. He furthered his education at
a Masters Level with a physical therapy degree from Long Island
University in 1989. At that time, he also graduated with a BS
degree in Health Sciences. After his graduate work in physical
therapy in 1989, he began his work at HealthSouth Rehabilitation
Hospital from May 1989 through June 1994. He worked both in
the capacity of staff physical therapist and promoted to senior
physical therapist. He was involved various programs to include
spinal cord, closed head injuries, chronic pain, outpatient,
inpatient and industrial rehab, programs.
In June
1994 through October 1997, Tim joined the staff at Rehab Solutions
as their Director of Physical Therapy. At the same time, he
also began his own practice with Allegheny Sports Medicine and
his current partner Bill Frees, Jr., Speech Audiologist.
During
his role as Director of Physical Therapy, he helped evolve the
physical therapy from two full time equivalents and one nursing
home contract to 3 hospital contracts, 22 nursing homes and
3 outpatient centers with 35 full time equivalents. Various
programs initiated under his direction included custom sitting
positions for both the geriatric and spinal cord patients, wound
care, vestibular rehab, and chronic pain programs.
His direction
under Allegheny Sports Medicine as a partner allowed within
a very short time for Allegheny Sports Medicine to become significantly
involved with the Allegheny County High School system in Cumberland,
MD. Under his direction, Allegheny Sports Medicine was able
to hire one full time trainer to supervise five graduate assistants
in the 6 high schools across the Allegheny County area. Custom
to his programs was a Saturday morning Sports Medicine Clinic
to assist athletes after Friday night football games in treatment
of their acute injuries.
In October
1997, Tim moved back to his home area and managed Keystone Rehabilitation
Systems outpatient clinic as Facility Director. He became recognized
as one of the premiere physical therapy practices in the area
to include manual therapies and specialized technique that he
is now performing at Crossroads Physical Therapy.
Most important to Tim is
his family, wife Lisa, sons T.J., Caleb and Jordan and daughter
Emma. Tim serves as a Deacon at Grace Bible Church and is a
member of that church body since 1997. Other interests and hobbies
include National Ski Patrol member since 1980, national physical
therapy member since 1989, National Athletic Trainers Association
member since 1990.
Tim also
serves on a local board of AMBUCS club to assist board of directors
with a scholarship program. Tim enjoys exercising including
mountain biking, skiing, hiking, aerobic conditioning and light
weight training.
